Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in oil field operations. This role requires working with high-voltage systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.

Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.

Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems.

Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime.

Test electrical circuits and components using various tools, such as multimeters and circuit testers.

Collaborate with engineers, rig personnel, and other trades to support oil field operations.

Document work performed, maintain accurate records, and complete work orders as required.

 Adhere to strict safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

Valid Journeyman Electrician license

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, high-voltage installations, and industrial wiring.

Familiarity with oil field operations, hazardous location (Class 1, Div 1 & 2) requirements, and explosion-proof equipment.

Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and SCADA systems is a plus.

Ability to work in harsh environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and remote locations.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.

Personal commitment to safety.

Work Schedule & Conditions:

Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work in remote locations with exposure to outdoor elements.
