Assistant or Associate Director of Athletics Compliance

Penn State is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Director of Compliance position within the Athletics Compliance Office. This Assistant/Associate Director of Compliance position will be responsible for day-to-day duties of assigned NCAA legislative bylaws including Bylaw 13: Recruiting. In addition, this position will serve as the main contact for assigned sports and/or administrative units and will respond to interpretive inquiries, prepare and submit waiver requests and investigate and file Level III violations for assigned sports and/or administrative units.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day-to-day duties related to assigned NCAA bylaws, including Bylaw 13: Recruiting.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned sports and/or administrative units, respond to interpretive inquiries, prepare and submit waiver requests, and investigate and file Level III violations for assigned sports and/or administrative units.

  • Serve as primary compliance contact for the sports camp office.

  • Assist with student-athlete housing assignments and maintain housing database; serve as primary contact for institutional housing of student-athletes.

  • Maintain compliance-related databases (ARMS/Teamworks)

Education and experience:

Minimum Required Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of full-time experience working in an Intercollegiate Athletics Compliance setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, analytical and research skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and attention to detail as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate (JD).
