HELP WANTED: PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
TOWN OF ROLLING HILLS, WYOMING
 
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Town of Rolling Hills is seeking a dedicated, skilled and versatile Public Works Director to oversee all aspects of town maintenance, infrastructure, and water system operations. This key leadership position reports directly to the Mayor and Town Council and plays a vital role in maintaining our community’s essential services and quality of life.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Water System Management: Serve as Responsible Charge Water Operator maintaining the town’s water system, including required testing, reporting, and system repairs
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of all town roads, buildings, parks, pathways, and public spaces
- Winter Operations: Coordinate snow removal operations, ensuring roads are cleared by 6 a.m. and remain clear to the best degree possible during snowfall events
- Equipment Management: Service and maintain town vehicles and equipment
- Project Supervision: Oversee contractors and construction projects within town limits
- Staff Supervision: Train and supervise water and maintenance staff
- Administrative Duties: Prepare budgets, inventory, and reports; attend monthly Town Council meetings
- Ethical Duties: Maintain a high standard of moral and ethical conduct and strong leadership abilities
 
REQUIREMENTS
- Level 1 Well Systems Operator certification (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Pesticide license (or ability to obtain)
- Knowledge of water systems
- Experience with infrastructure and equipment maintenance and operation
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency for reporting and budgeting
- Excellent communication and supervisory abilities
- Snow plowing experience preferred
 
WORK CONDITIONS
- On-call 24/7 for emergencies per rotating schedule with other employees and ability to respond within 45 minutes
- Position requires outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Must be available for early morning snow removal (before 6 a.m.) including weekends and holidays when needed
