Job Summary
The Senior Director of Workforce Initiatives and Career Pathways will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the future of allied health education and career pathways and programs supported by UK Healthcare.
The Senior Director is responsible for creating defined pathways and services for employees to help develop their skills to grow and pursue other professional opportunities across the UKHC; identifying and addressing needed services that may be missing; establishing a marketing protocol so department managers and employees at each UKHC entity are aware of the services available to them; developing a process for anticipating occupational and entry-level workforce development needs; building strong community partnerships that guide community residents and other individuals to productive careers at UKHC; supporting youth (high school) and college internships; managing the Youth program that provides exposure to careers within the healthcare industry and post-secondary medical/healthcare education as well as work closely with talent acquisition to help identify talent to join UKHC. The position focuses on program & operational leadership and management, building external relationships, knowledge management, and resource development.
The Senior Director is responsible for the direction of others, administrative oversight, maintenance of accreditation compliance, and modifying or adapting current educational programs to meet the organization's workforce and professional development needs. Additionally, the Senior Director is responsible for creating programs and development opportunities to encourage the internal advancement of employees into hard-to-fill, mission-critical positions. The Director will develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, school districts, and the state organizations of workforce development to create new programs, apply for grant funding, and adapt existing curriculum and programs to serve UK Healthcare and the community at large and meet the needs for workforce development and career pathways education in for future growth of the UK Healthcare enterprise.
This position reports to the Vice President of Strategic Workforce Initiatives. It works closely and in collaboration with the UK Department of Human Resources to ensure efficiency in processes and to maximize the development and transition of current employees and external applicants into employment with UK Healthcare. This position requires an advanced degree and a high level of organizational and communication skills for interaction with various individuals from across departments, organizations, and educational institutions. This individual will represent UK Healthcare in interactions and committee service with multiple affiliated departments in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary educational institutions, community organizations, state and county organizations, and the public.
This is a hybrid position.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
10 years in post-secondary education administration for health sciences, medical sciences, science, technology or education or other closely related areas. Experience in classroom teaching at secondary or post-secondary levels.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
Yes
Preferred Education/Experience
Prefer Minimum 5 years education experience, 3 years leadership and background in clinical healthcare.
