Visiting Assistant Professor, University of Pittsburgh, Department of Philosophy

Pending budgetary approval, The Department of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a candidate for a position as Visiting Assistant Professor for a term of three years beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The department seeks a specialist in Philosophy of Physics who is prepared to teach undergraduate courses across a range of areas in theoretical philosophy.

Required Qualifications: (1) A Ph.D. in Philosophy or a closely related field expected by the proposed start date, (2) a promising research agenda, (3) evidence of exemplary teaching.

Responsibilities: Undergraduate and graduate teaching, and regular departmental duties.

Applicants should submit a CV (including a dissertation abstract or research statement), letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching ability, and a writing sample.
