Description: Provides advice and guidance on all phases of human resources, serves as a consultant to people managers and unit leadership, and manages recruitment strategy and coordinates the interview process. Facilitates trainings, provides strategic planning and budgeting guidance, and performs complex data analysis for senior management.
Pitt's award-winning University Center for International Studies (UCIS) serves as the hub for the University's global learning, partnerships, and programs. The Human Resources Coordinator will play an integral role in coordinating daily people operations for UCIS. The position operates on a hybrid work schedule. The HR Coordinator will be the point person for overall management of all human resources actions for UCIS. They are responsible for onboarding and offboarding new employees; coordinating the recruiting and reclassification process; processing all HR related employee transactions; providing reports and regular updates to senior administrative staff to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures; maintaining all confidential documentation related to Employee Relations, FMLA, Disability and Workers Compensation; completing and reconciling time records monthly. This position is also responsible for coordinating all UCIS-related visitor and associate appointments as well as student hiring. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. They must be able to maintain strict confidence with employee information. They should also be detail-oriented, flexible, and a strong multi-tasker. This person will have a professional and mature disposition, a sense of humor, and the ability to interact with individuals from various cultures. They should be proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. They should have experience working in HCM systems, and proficient with using remote collaboration tools.
