The Shop Techs assist and support the operations of the shop alongside full-time staff members to provide space, resources, safety, and service for CA+P students and faculty to meet their intended goals within the program's curriculum preparing students for success in their gained skillset in the fields of architecture, design, and planning. .

The incumbent is responsible for the safe operation of equipment, including power tools in completing work orders. When problems arise in the process of performing maintenance duties the incumbent must determine when to involve the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

- Follow direct supervisor's, fabrication lab technician's and senior shop tech's instructions to ensure students, staff, and faculty compliance to safety rules are followed.
- Staff the shop at scheduled hours to ensure individuals are never unattended.
- Provide assistance to students, staff, and faculty when asked and provide guidance on proper use of shop equipment and tools.
- Assist students with project needs as necessary.
- Utilize the check-out system for tools in use while in the shop as directed.
- Assist in conducting routine inventories of the shop tools and equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the shop by performing periodic cleaning throughout scheduled shift.
- May be asked to assist with minor components of projects for the College managed by the fabrication lab technician and senior shop tech.
- Other duties as assigned.
